First things first I'm going to hold my hands up and admit I'm a serial hair abuser, often known as the girl with quite literally five colours in hair, I spent the past five years of my life with hair the colour of the rainbow and not the mention the cuts I've had in my time. I never used any heat protection, abused the use of hair tools and got my hair cut unwillingly every three years, forget three months.
But by the end of last year, after I finally decided to have the confidence to wear my hair natural.. I bought my last set of 'fire red' hair extension's, used my straighteners for the very last time and finally got a haircut, being a naturally dirty blonde with curly hair, my hair is easily damaged, unmanageable and sensitive to sunlight.
My mum's a hairdresser and a bloody good one at that, she cut a fair few inches of my hair off and dyed it a colour which was a little more easy to keep, orange. Realistically not the most forgiving of colours so I was forced to take extra care to avoid my hair looking brittle and damaged. I haven't used straighteners for maybe around 9 months, I dye my hair every four months so it's pretty normal to see me rocking the ginger hair with 5 inch root combo, and only use semi permanent dyes and absolutely no bleach. Its safe to say now instead of buying secret crazy colours and a packet of bleach I buy make up, it's much easier to buy in secret.. I thought I'd give you a quick run down of five products which have helped me to keep my normally frizzy brittle mane in to something a little more sleek..
First up, now I'd probably have no hair left if this little beauty of a hair brush didn't exsist, i'm forever moaning about brushing my hair, i hate it with a passion but there is a angel in the form of a..'Tangle Teezer' these are the new 'it' brushes, hand held, glide's through the hair with next to no effort and finally comes in a variety of colours and patterns to suit absolutely everyone. Priced at £10.99 these gem's are a little on the pricey side however just keep thinking cost per use hey? Now who doesn't love a good oil, me being a big serum fan I use this most days after I've washed my hair or even a few days in to define my curls, this Macadamia oil gives my hair shine and nourishment without feeling heavy or greasy, however heavy handed people beware, you need the smallest amount to avoid the dreaded greasy lock syndrome.. Next up is another Macadamia product, these hair mask's are perfect as a weekly treat, and are the perfect pick me up and not forgetting these can also be bought by the sachet for all you like myself who simply cannot commit to one product. Aussie also do another fab three minute miracle which not only leaves my hair feeling smooth as a baby's bum, but smells good enough to eat.. Now on to a controversial product; Mousse, no we're not back in the eighties and scrunching definitely isn't back in, but I hate to break to you curly haired girls but mousse is your friend, Toni and Guy's Spritz and Shine mousse is at it's best applied when hair is half dry through the roots and your frizzy sections and your mane will be less Poodle more Bichon Frise... Whether I am or aren't using a mask L'oreal Elvive is a perfect 'deep' conditioner which I often use every other wash, leave in for five whilst you shave your legs and rinse.. 'because you're worth it..

I've been meaning to get the macadamia oils, as I don't want to shed out loads on the original Moroccan oils x
